What does iTero do?
The iTero Impression Scanner is an intraoral camera that takes 3D pictures of the teeth, mouth and bite of our patients.
How does it work?
iTero lets us make adjustments to your treatment in real-time, store data digitally, and show patients a preview of how their smile may look after treatment before it even begins.
The scanning process involves scanning each quadrant of the jaw using a scanning wand. It captures images of each individual tooth in order to provide a 3-dimensional image of how your teeth are positioned in relation to one another.
After the quadrant scan, a full bite scan is also completed so that the dentist can get an accurate idea of the patient's malocclusion in context. The complete model with all the scan images is then sent to Align Technologies so that the patient's custom aligners can be created.
